Dedicated to the 44 men that were tortured to death by U.S. operatives during interrogation in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Department of Defense released autopsy reports in October 2005
in response to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by
the American Civil Liberties Union, the Center for Constitutional Rights, Physicians for Human Rights, Veterans for Common Sense, and Veterans for Peace.

I created this piece in response to learning that 44 men died while under US supervision in the Middle East since the US led War on Terror began. The Department of Defense documents list 21 of these deaths as homicides. The documents show that detainees died during and after interrogations by Navy SEALs, Military Intelligence, and Other Government Agencies (OGA).

I attempted to create a piece that depicts the “underground” actions carried out by “the state” against humans that is very real vs. the veiled illusion of Truth, Liberty,
and Justice.
